Fatal collision, A30 Upottery
Renewed appeal for witnesses
Officers are continuing to investigate a collision on the A30 at Upottery which took the life of 60-year-old Robert Duval from Somerset who died when the BMW he was driving was involved in the incident.
Police were notified at around 7am on Tuesday 13February 2018 to reports of the head-on collision between a BMW and a HGV lorry on the A30 near Honiton.
Officers have renewed their appeal for witnesses as their investigation continues.
Police Constable Lucy Tyler-Jones of the Serious Collisions Investigation Team said: “We are particularly appealing to the driver of a silver/metal tanker or tipper heavy goods lorry which was travelling towards Honiton in a line of lorries around the time of the incident.
“This vehicle was not directly involved in the collision, however, may have footage that would be helpful to our investigation.”

Family pay tribute to Robert Duval
A man who died after the car he was travelling in was involved in a collision on the A30 at Upottery near Honiton has been named.
60-year-old Robert Duval from Hinton St George, Somerset, was driving the BMW which was involved in a collision with a HGV close to the junction with the Seven Mile Straight at Upottery.
The collision took place at around 7am on Tuesday 13 February; Mr Duval died at the scene.
The family of Robert Duval paid the following tribute: “Robert Duval was a much loved husband, father, brother and son, who burned so very brightly, and in so many ways touched the lives and hearts of those around him.
“We are very grateful for the time we were able to have with him, and are devastated that this has been cruelly cut short.
“We would like to thank everyone for their warm words and wishes and to thank the police and emergency services for their help and support.”
