Road traffic collision, St Austell


Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of a two-vehicle collision on Trevanion Road, St Austell, on Tuesday 10 March.

It involved a silver Volvo XC40 and a grey Renault Traffic Van and happened at around 3.25pm.

As a result of the collision, occupants from both vehicles were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske.

Sadly, the front-seat passenger of the Volvo – an 86-year-old man from Exeter - died in hospital on Friday 13 March.

Local officers, as well as those from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Witnesses, or any motorists with dashcam footage, are being urged to call police on 101, or email, quoting log number 534 of 10/03/2020.
