Police appeal after cyclist sustains serious injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a cyclist and a car on the A390 near Chiverton Cross roundabout yesterday afternoon, Monday 12 October.

The collision occurred at around 3.30pm and involved a black Ford Fiesta.

A 51-year-old male cyclist sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Fiesta, a local woman in her 20s, is assisting police with their investigation.

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended to investigate and establish how the collision occurred.

Witnesses, and anybody with dashcam footage of the collision, or the driving of the vehicle prior to the collision, is requested to contact police on 101 or via email at quoting log 519, 12/10/20.
