Officers appeal for information

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a woman on a busy road into Plymouth city centre.

The 45-year-old Plymouth woman was punched in the face by a man following an altercation about the victim’s dog. She sustained facial bruising and swelling as a result of the attack.

The incident happened at Cattedown roundabout around 7.25am on Friday 7 June.

A 56-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault ABH and has been released on bail until 5 July.

A police spokesman said: “This assault happened on a busy roundabout on a main route into the city centre so someone must have witnessed what happened.

“We would ask anyone who saw the incident or anyone who has any information to assist with the investigation to come forward.”
