Appeal for witnesses

Police investigating reports of several assaults in Plymouth are appealing for information to help with their enquiries.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation at the taxi rank in Old Town Street, Plymouth, between 3.30am and 4am, on Sunday 18 July.

Two people reported that they were assaulted but neither sustained serious injuries.

It is understood that there were a number of people in the vicinity at the time and police would like anyone who witnessed the alleged assault or has any information which could assist police enquiries to get in touch.

A 28-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
