Attempted murder in Paignton
Appeal for witnesses
Officers from Devon CID are conducting an investigation into a serious assault that occurred on the evening of Wednesday 11 April 2018.
The incident happened between 10.15pm and 10.30pm at the junction of Dartmouth Road and Penwill Way in Paignton.
A 26-year-old man from Surrey was a passenger in a car which was attacked by multiple males. During the attack the male received a stab wound to the head which resulted in him being rushed to Derriford Hospital where he was in an induced Coma for a number of days.
Despite his serious injury he is now conscious, talking and beginning his recovery.
The Senior Investigating Officer DI Lee Nattrass said: “This was a callous and vicious attack on a young man and we are committed to bringing the persons responsible to justice.
“We are seeking for the support of the Torbay and Paignton Community to come forward with information to help us and in particular identify the owner and users of the white vehicle in the image. The following image is of a vehicle that we wish to identify in connection with the incident.”

A 19-year-old man from Mitcham in London, a 16-year-old boy from London, and a 48-year-old man from Torquay were all arrested on suspicion of GBH and have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
