Victim suffered a significant head injury

Police have appealed for witnesses following an assault in Barnstaple that left a man in hospital with a serious head injury.

Officers are investigating an incident in Boutport Street, near to the Anatolia 2 restaurant, at around 2am on Sunday 2 June.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was assaulted and suffered a significant head injury. He is currently receiving hospital treatment.

Anyone with information relating to the incident is urged to call police on 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting crime reference number CR/048615/19.
