Serious collision, A394 Porthleven


One person in a critical condition

At approximately 3:39pm on Monday 8th October, Police were notified of a serious road traffic collision that had occurred on the A394 at its junction with B3304 near to Stopgate near Porthleven, Cornwall.

The collision involved two vehicles and the road was closed for a period of time to allow for casualty extraction, scene examination, investigation and vehicle recovery.

As a result of this collision one person was taken to Derriford hospital in a life threatening condition. Two further persons were taken to Treliske with minor injuries.

The collision involved a white Fiat Panda which had been travelling on the B3304 toward the main A394 and a white Iveco van. For reasons yet to be established the Panda has joined the main A394 road from the minor road, into the path of the oncoming Van who was travelling along the main A394

Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses who may be add some information to this investigation to come forward quoting log 511 for the 8th of October.
