Death is not being treated as suspicious

Police were called at around 5.20am on Wednesday 1 September after concern was raised for the welfare of a man found on the A30 near Illogan, Redruth. 

Emergency services attended and a local man, aged in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

The A30 was initially closed in both directions between Avers and Tolvaddon. The Broad Lane overbridge was also shut. This caused significant traffic disruption in the area.

The eastbound carriageway was reopened at around 12.15pm.

The Broad Lane overbridge reopened at around 1.35pm.

The A30 was fully reopened at around 2.55pm.
