Police appeal for witnesses after mobility scooter user suffers serious injury

Police investigating an assault in Plymouth, in which a mobility scooter user was seriously injured, have appealed for witnesses.  

The incident took place on Thursday 30 May outside the Mini Market in Union Street, near the Octagon.

Officers are investigating reports that a male in an orange t-shirt assaulted a man on a mobility scooter between 4.40pm and 4.50pm.

The victim, who is aged in his 50s, suffered a serious leg injury and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

A 44-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released under police investigation.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
