Motorcyclist named

The motorcyclist who died following a fatal collision in Cornwood on Friday 19 July has been formally identified.

Carl Rugman, aged 43 from Shaugh Prior in Devon, was killed when the Kawasaki motorbike he was driving was involved in a collision with a Land Rover Freelander on an unnamed road in Moor Cross.

Mr Rugman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Specialist officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are still seeking witnesses to the incident.

Sgt Steve James said: “We are particularly appealing to the owner of a green coloured wax jacket that was left at the scene.

“We believe it may have belonged to a member of the public who stopped at the scene to give first aid.”

Officers are working to establish the cause of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to contact them via or by phone on 101, quoting log number 684 of 19/07/19.
