Fatal collision, A374 near Antony


One man has died

A man has died following a collision on the A374 near Antony which involved two motorbikes.

Police were called to the collision at around 3pm on Thursday 5 September.

As a result of the collision, both riders were taken to Derriford hospital.

24-year-old James Dickson, from Torpoint, was airlifted to Derrirford hospital following the collision near Antony. He sadly passed away in hospital on Friday 6 September.

A 22-year-old man, also from the Torpoint area, sustained potentially life-changing injuries. He remains in hospital, in a serious condition, at this time.

James’ family have paid the following tribute:

“James Ian Dickson died on Friday 6/9/19 at 1.00pm following a motorbike accident near Antony, Torpoint, Cornwall, the previous day. 

“In his early years he enjoyed camping and hiking and it was only when he got his motorbike that he became besotted with his new hobby. 

“His death is devastating and he will be missed so very much by his parents, family and friends, but we all take comfort in that he died whilst out riding and enjoying his beloved motorbike. 

“Rest in Peace son and enjoy riding in the sky. Love and miss you always.”
