Officers hope to identify witness who was spoken to by man in Jacks Lane

Police investigating an incident of criminal damage in Torquay have released an image of a witness they would like to speak with.

Officers hope to identify the man photographed, who was walking down Jacks Lane at around noon on Friday 1 March.

The man pictured is a witness and is not in any way connected with the crime. Police believe he may have information that could help them with their enquiries.

The witness was spoken to by another man who was walking his dog and who appeared to be in an agitated state. Police would like to know what the conversation was about.

The man in the agitated state is suspected to have later been involved in an incident in which damage was caused to a property and vehicles in Jacks Lane.

A 46-year-old man from the Torquay area has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and affray and has been released under police investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who can help identify the witness pictured, is urged to call police on 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting crime reference number CR/018799/19.
