Police appeal for witnesses

Police in North Devon have launched an investigation following an allegation of sexual assault.

The incident took place in the area of Newport Road and Hollowtree Road, Barnstaple, between 8:45–9:15pm on Friday 26th October. 

It is alleged that a woman was sexually assaulted during this time. 

Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection to this incident; he has since been released on police bail until Wednesday 21 November pending further enquiries. 

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was walking in the area during this time, or any road users who may have dash cam footage that could assist.
