55-year-old motorcylce rider airlifted to hospital

At around 12.46pm on Saturday 25 May, an off-duty police officer discovered a road traffic collision where a high-powered motorcycle is believed to have left the carriageway and collided with a wall on the B3276 at Bedruthan Steps.

As a result of the collision, the 55-year-old rider was taken to a Cornwall Hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

The road was closed for several hours while a specialist examination took place.

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the collision to investigate and establish how the collision occurred.

Witnesses are requested to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101, or email, with information, quoting log number 450 of 25 May. 

Officers are particularity interested in anyone who may have had dashcam footage in the area during this time.
