Terrorism and extremism
Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are one of the safest places to live in the UK. However, an incident at Exeter’s Giraffe restaurant in May 2008, where a bomb was partially detonated, injuring the bomber only, highlighted the fact nowhere is immune to acts of terror. We must all remain vigilant at all times, regardless of where we live.
Important: Call 999 or the police anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321 to report an immediate threat to life or property.
