Bikesafe is a national initiative run by police forces to reduce the number of motorcycle casualties on our roads.

By passing on their knowledge, skills and experience, police motorcyclists can help you become a safer, more competent rider. We believe the better rider you become, the less likely you are to be involved in a collision and the more enjoyment you'll get out of your bike.

Working with Bikesafe, Devon & Cornwall Police has developed a number of workshops to improve your motorcycling skills.

Bikesafe workshops

These one-day sessions run throughout the year and across the force area. The sessions start at around 9.45am and finish at 4.00pm.

How much does it cost?

The sessions are £35 per person. Gift vouchers are available which can be given as a present.

What's involved?

The interactive morning session begins by looking at the main causes of collisions, such as cornering, positioning and overtaking. In the afternoon, participants apply what they have learnt in the morning by completing a series of on-road rides. A police motorcyclist observes these rides and provides them with constructive feedback.

The entire afternoon was both tremendous fun and a great way of improving the standard of riding. I for one still have a lot to learn judging from the very high standard of riding skill demonstrated to us all by the Police riders that day
