Training covers Hidden Crimes including: - Sextortion, County Lines, Cuckooing, Online Vigilante Groups and Illegal Money Lending.
We would like to thank the OPCC for their generous support to enable Devon and Cornwall police and Devon Link Up to develop this Hidden Crime Awareness.
The aim is to increase connectivity and raise awareness around some of the current key safeguarding messages which are impacting on our communities, including those with learning disabilities and or Autism.
The events have been organised as a result of community engagement which evidenced the need for greater access to information about the subjects causing increased levels of risk, harm and threat, and the lack of awareness about how and where to report issues of concern.
We hope that you, as practitioners, will attain a greater understanding in order that you can recognise and report relevant concerns around the topics discussed today.
In addition, it is anticipated that connections are established which will enhance wider communication and improved working relationships.
The information given today has been made available in easy read formats so that you can share it with the people you support or have contact with. In fact, this is an essential!
Without your support, people with learning disabilities and autism, are at greater risk of being targeted. The hope is that this awareness raising event, will provide you with the knowledge and tools to prevent more members of the community being affected.
If you have any questions or require more information, please contact the organisers.
