Manual review of results to identify relevant cases
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding disciplinary actions taken against police officers in various police forces across England and Wales over the past three years.
Specifically, I am interested in obtaining data on disciplinary actions, including but not limited to the following:
> The number of police officers within the force who have faced disciplinary actions related to sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, or any similar offence, for the past five years.
In the last five years (4th September 2018 to 4th September 2023), 23 police officers attended misconduct proceedings related to sexual misconduct, sexual harassment or other similar offences.
> The types of misconduct or offences for which disciplinary actions were taken, without disclosing specific case details.
> The outcomes of these disciplinary actions, including whether the officers were reprimanded, suspended, or dismissed from their positions.

The information in question is contained in the Regulation 43 outcome document (or equivalent regulation for hearings held under old regulations). The Regulation 43 document goes into chapter and verse about mitigation offered by the officer(s) and gives their names and specific circumstances of the case etc, which would identify them.
