School crimes

I would like to know the crime statistics for the last 5 years for schools in your force area (spilt state/ex state and independent schools).

Specifically I would like to know, assault, burglary (non domestic), burglary (going equipped to steal), criminal damage, criminal damage (arson), fraud by abuse of position, possession of offensive weapons (non firearms), possession of a firearm, public order.

The Performance & Analysis Department have provided the following information.

Devon & Cornwall Police transitioned to a new Crime Records management system on 14 November 2022 from UNIFI to Niche

Therefore the searches before and after that date are different and care should be taken when comparing figures

Data Limitations

There is no flag/marker to indicate if a location is a state or independent school. To provide this breakdown would involve individually reviewing all 4774 offences which would exceed the appropriate limit under Section 12 of the FOI Act
