Version Date: 19/07/2023
The Crime Department have provided the following information.
Devon & Cornwall Police don’t currently have specialist teams across the Force investigating RaSSO offences.
The majority of investigations are managed within local investigation whilst certain crime types are managed by the Public Protection Unit or Major Crime Investigation Team.
The force is currently delivering the SSAIDP – (Specialist Sexual Assault Investigator Programme) and the RISDP (Rape Investigation Skills Development Programme) to all PIP2 frontline investigators.
In the absence of specialist teams there is no defined number of vacancies for this specialist role
Please note: the Force have recently commenced rollout of a dedicated team in Plymouth, but it is still in the pilot stage.
