Conduct of an officer

An investigation was conducted in relation to allegations concerning the conduct of an officer. It is alleged that the behaviour has fallen below the Standards of Professional Behaviour in that:

1. The officer misled the Counter Corruption and/or Vetting Unit by failing to inform them that they had started gambling again and that their financial situation was getting worse.
2. The officer lied to their colleagues and friend to obtain money because they had spent their own money on gambling.

It is alleged that their behaviour has fallen below the standards of professional behaviour, namely ‘honesty and integrity’ and ‘discreditable conduct’.

The officer will attend a misconduct hearing at Exeter Racecourse from 04 to 08 November 2024 at 1000 hours which will be held in public.
