Police are appealing for the public's help to identify this man in connection with a serious unprovoked assault on a schoolboy in Plymouth.

The 13-year-old Plymouth boy was set upon by a man in Penrith Gardens, Estover, on 25 September. 

He was punched repeatedly to the head, held on the ground and stamped on.  He sustained a black eye, cuts to his mouth and numerous swellings to his head. 

Police are appealing for information and have released the image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the offence.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured in asked to contact police.
