Police are appealing to the public to help them to identify a number of potential witnesses as part of an investigation into an allegation of a sexual assault in Exeter.

A police spokesperson said: “We must stress that the images we have released today are of people we are hoping to identify and speak to as potential witnesses; they may have information that can assist local officers with their investigation in relation to reports of a serious sexual assault, and are not suspects in this matter.

“We are releasing pictures of potential witnesses who may have been in the area around that time; if you are one of these people or recognise any of the people pictured please call 101, quoting CR/094684/18 and give your name and contact details so that officers can make contact.

“Police are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Old Tiverton Road, or who were on Prince Charles Road in the area of the roundabout from Old Tiverton Road between 1-2am on Saturday 13 October 2018.”

Police have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection to this incident, he has been released on police bail until the 20th December pending further enquiries.
