Alarms administration


The Devon and Cornwall Police Alarms Administration team process all applications, received from commercial alarm companies, when they apply for Unique Reference Numbers (URN) for new alarm system installations, the takeover of an existing alarm system and many other administration tasks involved in the maintenance of the Force Alarm database as detailed in the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Police Requirements & Response to Security Systems.

In addition to the NPCC Police Requirements & Response to Security Systems Devon and Cornwall police also have in place Variations on the Requirements, which each company, when applying to be included on our list of compliant companies, must read and agree to Police Requirements & Response to Security Systems (July 2018) Appendix A (Local Procedures).
