Rural Crime and Engagement

Priority reason: 14 Oct 2021

Youths and adults using off road bikes to green lane in local woods and private land

Working along side our farming communities to prevent Livestock worrying.

Regular patrols of our Car park/beauty spot  to stop and prevent vehicle Rural Crime.

Febuary 

-Users of motocross bikes- Bridle path through Horner hill, Dalwood Lane leading to Beckford Bridge Liaising with the community for reassurance, and Neighbourhood police team patrolled the area.

- Posters and sign's ordered ref livestock worrying & rural thefts.

-  Posters and sign'splaces in rural car parks which have been targeted by car thefts recently, engaged with several members of public, while out on patrol.

March

3 riders spoken with, all happy to give details, Words of advice given riders use TET- TRANS EURO TRAIL .

April

Weekend patrols -Traffic OP 1st & 2nd May targeting Green laners. X4 off road bikers stopped and spoken to in Shute woods. All had maps and a planned route. Bikes were checked and road legal. Words of advice given.

May

CR/034961/20- Non dwelling burglary of a barn workshop overnight 30th-1st May. A green Kawasaki KX250 stolen. . Bike located , recovered by Police and returned to owner.

Vehicle Offences

Priority reason: 14 Oct 2021

Vehicles driving in an anti-social manner, Mopeds riding about the town both on road and off road within the town and the field areas. Drivers that do not hold driving licences and are not insured. Vehicles uninsured & road worthy or are being driven by those who do not hold valid driving licences.

January

-Failed to stop vehicle made off from police- vehicle with no insurance/ disqualified driver - currently being investigated with assistance from Prevent & Detect Team. Log 598 04/01/21

-Vehicle seized from a disqualified driver. The driver has been reported for no insurance, no MOT.  Log 691 05/01/21

-Vehicle Seized Driver with no licence/insurance.

-Driver given a fixed penalty for using a mobile phone.

February

- CR/011029/21 DRIVE A VEHICLE WHILST UNFIT THROUGH DRUGS- reported for offences.

March

- Driver convicted at court for disqual driving/ no insurance, received further disqualification for six months.      

- Another Driver- convicted at court for disqual driving, no insurance -  received further disqualification  for six months.

April

- x1 reported for revoked licence, no insurance & car seized and cannabis seized.

- x1 Ticket issued for no insurance

May

- Black Audi seized for having no Tax since 31/12/20

- Driver of a Peugeot, which showed notified off road and no MOT. Driver disputed that he was able to drive on his Traders insurance policy however he was informed that as he was not displaying trade plates this was not the case. He was also informed this his home address was not a registered MOT centre nor was he driving to a booked MOT appointment. He was reported for no MOT and failure to display trade plates. Tax offences to be reported to DVLA.

July 

- MITSUBUSHI L200- Driver Reported no insurance & revoked licence. Vehicle seized.

 September

Drug Dealing and County Lines

Priority reason: 30 Sep 2021

The local Neighbourhood Police Team has received numerous complaints from the public regarding people using and dealing drugs in and around the local area.

If you witness any drug activity in the area then please contact the Police by calling 101 or completing the 101 contact form. Call 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger.

May

A male was stop searched sec 23 MUDA after recent intel that he was carrying drugs. Negative search.

Section 23MUDA Warrant carried out at Calam House Axminster. Juvenile missing male located from London, The male was arrested PITS- Possession with intent to supply  Class A Released under investigation back to London

June

On 24th June 2021 Axminster Team executed a Closure notice on Calam House Poplar Mount, Axminster under Section 80 Anti Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014. This property has been subject to County lines dealing.

The closure is for a 3 month period and prohibits entry to this property.

Conditions are-

ACCESS TO THE PREMISES BY ANY PERSONS IS HEREBY PROHIBITED FOR A PERIOD OF THREE MONTHS COMMENCING FORTHWITH ON 24th JUNE 2021 AND EXPIRING AT 23.59 ON 23rd SEPTEMBER 2021 UNLESS YOU ARE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING;-

  1. The owner, landlord or their agent
  2. Any member of the emergency services, including a general practitioner or healthcare professional.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS ORDER WITHOUT REASONABLE EXCUSE IS AN OFFENCE UNDER SECTION 86 OF THE ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR, CRIME AND POLICING ACT 2014 AND IS PUNISHABLE WITH UP TO 51 WEEKS IMPRISONMENT, OR A FINE, OR TO BOTH
