Devon and Cornwall Police and East Devon District Council  have been made aware of a proliferation of Himalayan Balsam, an invasive plant, in various parishes around Rural East Devon. This plant can cause ecological damage and can be considered a nuisance - as such, landowners whose land the plants are growing on have a responsibility to ensure that the plants are contained and disposed of properly and that they do not spread beyond their land.
