UPDATE 08/09/2021 So far we have:
We have been carrying out regular pro-active patrols in the area to monitor the situation and taking action where appropriate.
A S.23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant was executed in Seaton on 30/07/2021 which led to the seizure of controlled substances of Class A, B & C with one male arrested for possession with intent to supply. The address where the warrant was executed is now subject to a Closure Order.
This year, controlled substances of Class A, B & C have been seized from a number of individuals following stop & searches by officers within the neighbourhood team. Some individuals have been arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply and a quantity of drugs have been taken removed from our local streets. We have also seized cannabis plants from an individual who is now under investigation for cultivation of cannabis.
Following the investigations into the offences, offenders have received cautions, been dealt with by way of an out of court disposal and some have been reported to court. We have also referred a number of individuals to the Pathfinder team, which is a voluntary intervention programme that reduces harm and reoffending.
We have held and attended regular multi-agency liaison meetings with appropriate agencies in East Devon in order to discuss issues and identify appropriate ways forward, taking a "joined up" approach to problem solving.
If you witness any suspicious behaviour or have concerns about drug misuse in a specific area, please report this to the Police via 101 or Crimestoppers.
