If you enjoy facing challenges and coming up with solutions to problems and want to keep your community safe whilst developing your own skill sets, then policing could be for you. As a police officer you’ll have to make difficult decisions every day. You’ll need empathy, common-sense and compassion as well as a desire to make a difference.
Policing is challenging and rewarding and you will quickly realise no two days are the same. You’ll be a paid officer from day one, working alongside experienced officers. Once training has been completed the route you can take is varied and there are a range of specialist routes open to yourself.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and aim to build our workforce to reflect the diversity and complexity of the communities we serve. We particularly encourage applications form the following identified under-represented groups and communities to join our family:
Young People, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, People with Disabilities, Women and LGBTQ+ communities.
