What is a Community Focus Panel?
Devon & Cornwall Police is committed to consulting with local people. One way we hope to achieve this is by consulting with a group or panel of people about various subjects affecting the force.
How does it work?
We email group or panel members directly and invite them to take part in online surveys. These surveys are co-ordinated by Devon & Cornwall Police's Consultation Unit and the subject areas vary depending on the information required. We request a member's help as and when needed and all communication is via email, unless you have agreed to take part in further consultation and have given us alternative contact details, such as an address or phone number. All responses are anonymous. The results from these surveys are then used to help us make informed decisions with our organisation.
Who can join the Community Focus Panel?
Anyone can become a member, as long as you are a resident of Devon, Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly, and aged 16 or over.
How do I join the Community Focus Panel?
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Community Focus Panel, please fill out the online Focus panel form. Once we have received your completed form we will add you to the database, ready for the next consultation. We will confirm by email at least once a year whether you are still happy to continue being a member of the panel. If you decide you no longer want to take part, please email us and we will remove your details from our database.
As a panel member, we may also ask whether you would be interested in taking part in other types of consultation events. This includes discussion groups, telephone surveys or one-to-one interviews. We will contact you and ask you to be involved if and when these opportunities arise.
Devon & Cornwall Police is committed to upholding the principles of the Data Protection Act and your personal details will not be passed to any other organisation.
If you have any further questions about the Community Focus Panel, please email us. Please note this email is not monitored 24 hours a day, and we can only respond to queries directly relating to the Community Focus Panel.
