The follwing figures have been taken from Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)

2023 – One
1 Jan to 31 May 2024 – Two
3 The number of police officers who suffered minor injuries after being assaulted on duty in 2021, 2022, 2023 and the first five months of 2024.

These figures were taken from snapshots as at the last day of the relevant quarter (i.e. 30 June 3023, 30 September 2023, etc.) and combined to reflect the calendar year, as they were recorded on the system at those times.
Please be advised that, as the sickness figures are downloaded and reported on quarterly, there may be some instances of occurrences that span more than one quarter/year subject to the absence dates. Please note the data provided only counts that person once in the timeframes shown, but there may be the same person in several separate timeframes.
