Any Incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality. This can encompass but is not limited to psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional abuse.’
Both the victim and perpetrator have to be at least 16 years old for domestic abuse to be flagged as such under the definition. If the victim is under 16, the matter is treated as child abuse.
As of 19th June 2024, the Force has adopted a customised methodology to report on outcomes in order to more accurately reflect outcome type and the date an outcome was assigned. This is to mitigate the data being skewed as a result of administrative delays.
Due to this the Forces official outcomes data in Qlik and that being supplied to other agencies such as the Home Office and Police.uk will not always reflect what is entered on the stats class of an occurrence.
In the 2023 calendar year how many cases of domestic violence did you investigate where the victim was an adult (aged 18 or above) and the alleged attacker was a juvenile (aged 17 or below)? Please provide an age breakdown of these juveniles who were investigated and a breakdown by gender.
