The HR Operations & Alliance Finance Department has provided the following information.

1.What is the number of fatalities in toto – in a total of serving Devon and Cornwall Police Constables, between the dates of 1st of January 2020 and 7th of May 2024.

2 Police Constables. These individuals passed away off duty.

2.How much money in total has Devon and Cornwall Police unexpectedly needed to use by recruiting new Constables. The latter was a result of fatalities from serving Devon and Cornwall Police Constables between 1st January 2020 and 7th May 2024

We have not incurred any additional expenditure in recruiting due to serving officer fatalities. We do not change the recruitment schedule for fatalities as they are such a small number.

3.How many widowed bereavement pensions have Devon and Cornwall Police paid out in total between 1st January 2020 and 7th May 2024 from serving Constables

4.What was the biggest month in fatalities in terms of numerical value from serving Devon and Cornwall Constables between 1st January 2020 to 7th May 2024

Fatalities occurred in December 2021 and March 2022.

5.What was the average fatalities of serving Devon and Cornwall Police Constable per month between 1st January 2020 and 7th May 2024

0.038 fatalities.
