The Finance Department, Dog Section and Performance & Analysis Department have provided the following information.
How many times has your force been called out to deal with a dangerous dog incident in 2024 (up until the 31st September), 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020?
How many times has your force been called out to deal with a dangerous dog incident, that was an XL Bully, since 1st February 2024?
Animal related incidents envelopes a wide range of incidents such as livestock worrying, deer collisions, illegal hunting, dog attacks etc.
Between January 1st 2020 and September 30th 2024, there were 6630 incidents which relate to "dog" or "xl bully", all of which would need reading for relevance.
Specifically, 6275 referred to "dog", 249 referred to "xl bul", and 106 referred to "dog" and "xl bul".
Without individually reviewing each incident there is no way to identify the exact nature of the call.
This would exceed the appropriate limit under Section 12 of the FOI Act

Information not held. Finance have not kept a record on which dogs have been destroyed and which were just seized.
