Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FOI/25/008287/C
Version Date: 03/07/2025
The Alliance Operations Department has provided the following information.
Details of speed camera on the A376 Exmouth Road
This will be the one at
1. Calibration date
Last annual recalibration 22/05/2025
2. Date of install
07/06/2023
3. Number of drivers fined from date of commission to current date.
9788 Notice of Intended Prosecutions (Nips) issued
4. Images of the capture area that the camera uses
The camera does not use a specific capture area with set points, the area will be supplied for the offence
5. Distance of the capture areas from the camera
30m as per calibration certificate
6. Camera trigger speed, speed that the camera will take an image of a the vehicle
As per NPCC guidelines - 10% plus 2mph, therefore 35mph upwards.
7. Financial amount the fines from the camera has generated since install.
See response to question 3 above, for exact fines please contact His Majesty's Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS): HM Courts & Tribunals Service - GOV.UK
As I understand a second camera has been installed facing the opposite way so I would also request the same information on that also.
The above data is for BOTH cameras on the one site. To separate out the figures per camera for question 3 would be over the 18 hour fee limit as it is not possible to determine whether the vehicle is recorded approaching or receading without manually reviewing ALL recordings.
Clarification: Yes I’m happy to go ahead with the replacement
Suggested replacement: However, we can provide the number of excess speeding events and how many resulted in a Notice of Intended Prosecution. Please confirm if you are happy to replace this information for questions 3 and 7.
