Please Note: From December 2025, Devon and Cornwall Police implemented a new methodology for reporting Hate Crime, therefore figures may differ from previous reporting as improvements have been made.

All Crimes Occurrences adhere to the Principal Crime Rule.

Hate Qualifiers are attached to Occurrences, not Offences, because an Occurrence with a Hate Qualifier present could contain multiple offences, some of which may be Hate Related and some of which may not, this request has been answered using Occurrences instead of Offences.

A single Hate Crime can have multiple Hate Type(s), questions 2 and 3 have been answered if the specified Hate Type is present, not only if it is the sole Hate Type.
