Based on the number of people detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, there have been 478 detentions since October 2024 (which is when our records began).
On the matter of 135 detentions under the mental health act, following Home Office guidance, we have started recording this information this year.
3) What's the police budget for mental health cases each financial year since, and including, 2019.
No information held. There is no specific budget for mental health cases.
4) Of the people detained in a cell how many were mental health cases each year since, and including, 2019.
