Version Date: 15/04/2025
The Criminal Investigation Department have provided the following information.
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the missing person case of Mr. Daniel Mizzi, who disappeared on 8th December 2023 in St Ives, Cornwall.
It is my understanding that this case is classified as a missing person investigation and not a criminal investigation.
Given the significant public interest in locating Mr. Mizzi and the potential for public assistance in generating new leads, I am requesting the following information:
The response states:
A Devon and Cornwall Police statement dated 18th December stated that Daniel was last seen on CCTV at St Erth train station at 12.08 PM.
1. What is Devon and Cornwall Police's view on how Daniel travelled between St Erth station and Carbis Bay, a distance that Google Maps shows to require a walking time of at least an hour?
Devon and Cornwall Police maintains the view that Daniel boarded the train from St. Erth to Carbis Bay, based on CCTV evidence.
None.
3. If not recordings were obtained along the route, were any attempts made by Devon and Cornwall Police to collect CCTV recordings from residential or commercial properties along this route?
No.
