The Road Safety Team have provided the following information:
Please provide data on the number of mobile phone driving offences (offences under mobile phone legislation or detected under Section 41D of the Road Traffic Act 1988) recorded by Devon and Cornwall Police between Friday 9 August 2025 and Monday 12 August 2025.
Please include:
1. The number of offences detected using Acusensus camera systems (if possible, by location).
Total 155.
62 from A361 Rackenford.
93 from A39 (Northbound) Trekenning
2. How many of these offences resulted in:
o Notices of Intended Prosecution (NIPs),
155
o Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs),
o Court proceedings.
Not known as not all NiP responses have been received
o Verbal or written warnings issued instead of a penalty
None
3. The locations of enforcement activity, specifically whether any Acusensus-equipped vehicles or trailers were deployed on or near the A39, Trekenning roundabout, and Newquay area during this time.
