Filtered on HO Offence Code 042/0 - theft of mail bag or postal packet

Keyword search of Summary (Restricted) & (MO Restricted) for: *doorstep* *front door* *porch* *lobby* *postbox* *letterbox* *letter box* and *post box*

Caveats/Limitations:

No crimes/Cancelled Crimes included                                                    

The presence of a keyword only indicates its presence in the MO or Summary text and not its relevance to a crime

The Principal crime rule dictates the crime type recorded. This is determined by the Home Office Counting Rules. This means that whilst we have limited the data to HO Offence Code 042/0 - theft of mail bag or postal packet, there may be other crimes in which theft of mail bag or postal packet occurred.                              

Q) How many instances of parcel theft (HO Offence Code 042/0 - theft of mail bag or postal packet) where the words 'doorstep/front door/porch/lobby/postbox/letterbox' are included were reported between the following dates: 01/01/2021 - 26/08/2025. I would like this information broken down by calendar year, and with the results for 2025 so far separate.

Q) Please could you share a breakdown of these instances by month for each of the date ranges provided (i.e Jan 2021, Feb 2021 etc through to Aug 2025 so far)

Absence of a month indicates there were no crimed offences during that month.

Q)Could you let me know the number of thefts, broken down by month from Jan 2021 - August 2025, that have led to a Type 1 outcome (ie. charge/summonsed/postal requisition) and also the number that have led to a Type 18 outcome ( Investigation Complete; No Suspect Identified. Crime Investigated As Far As Reasonably Possible-Case Closed Pending Further Investigative Opportunities Becoming Available)

Between Jan 2021 - August 2025, there were no crimes that led to a Type 1 outcome (i.e. charge/summonsed/postal requisition).
The table below is for Type 18 Outcomes. Absence of a month indicates there were no crimed offences during that month.
