The Public Protection Unit have provided the following information.
For the period 30th September 2023 to 30 September 2024, please provide the following information:
- How many sex offenders were managed by your force under MAPPA during this period?
This figure fluctuates daily and is captured & recorded once a month. We can provide recorded data captured closest to the dates requested as per the below:
- 13/09/2023 - 2735
- 09/10/2024 - 2847
- How many of these were classified as high risk?
Please note that this data is not held and cannot be obtained through retrospective ViSOR searching, it would have needed to be captured on the day. We have recorded data for 13/03/2025 which is our current data set and last capture:
404 High Risk offenders as of 13/03/2025 – this includes community & custody cases.
- How many sex offenders currently managed under MAPPA by your force are recorded as missing?
- 30/09/2023 - 7
- 30/09/2024 - 11
Please note the caveat mentioned in question 1.
- How many risk-managed sex offenders notified your force of a name change during this period?
Searches were completed on ViSOR for ‘notification of new name’. This resulted in 30 offenders between 30/09/2023 – 30/09/2024.
Please note that this will not be completely accurate. We can only record one ‘reason’ for a notification on ViSOR for each occurrence/ notification. However, multiple changes may have been notified at once – bank/ address/ name and one of the other options selected which would not have come back in this search.
