Numerous driving offences are non notifiable to the Home Office and as a result, Devon and Cornwall Police are not required to record a crime in aspect of these offences.                                                       

An incident will be recorded, however, offences of this nature would be difficult to identify in the system.                                                            

Splashing pedestrians by driving through standing water is illegal under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act of 1988.

Please can you provide, for the area covered by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary, the total number of fixed penalty notices and/or offences recorded in 2024 to motorists for splashing pedestrians?

There were 2 incidents found which mention pedestrians being splashed in 2024 within the description.                                       

No fixed penalty notices were issued for splashing victims, nor were any crimes identified therefore this is a nil return.
