Tavistock Boxing Day hunt

The Finance and Neighbourhood Policing Departments have provided the following information.

On 26/12/2024, Devon and Cornwall Police had a pre-arranged presence in Tavistock as part of the Boxing Day hunt parade in the town. I am interested in the costs of deploying police for this event.

1) Did the police operation at the event have a formal name?

No formal name for this operation, work was completed during normal day shift. 

2) How many officers were deployed on routine duties?

Two officers from the neighbourhood team were deployed specifically for this 

3) How many officers were deployed on overtime duties?

No overtime required for this informal operation 

4) What was the operational cost, not including officer wages?

No other costs apart from officer wages 

5) What was the total cost incurred by paying officers on overtime?

No overtime costs incurred.

This included a drone unit, which I am interested in the costs for.

1) What costs were incurred to deploy a drone?
2) How much did the deployment come to?

There are no running costs associated with deploying a drone. There are upfront capital costs in terms of purchase of the drones, but once purchased no deployment costs. The only costs would be the officer hours themselves
