Data Limitations/Caveats:

Data is reliant on correct and accurate data recording.  

The presence of a keyword only indicates its presence in the MO or Summary text.

Data is based on the presence of the keyword but may not be limited to the word itself.  

Since the transition to Niche, we are only able to search a crime’s MO/Summary (small snapshot of the offence), not the Occurrence Enquiry Logs (OEL's). It is possible that our searches of the MO/Summary may miss offences, where the keyword is present in the OEL but not in the MO/Summary.         

Occurrence People Links data is dependent on the recording of an individual being linked to a crime, there may be a small number of crimes where no individual is linked and these will not appear in the data.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the following for each of the calendar years 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 to date.

1. The number of recorded crimes involving a victim aged under 18 where the crime summary, MO or equivalent searchable free-text field contains any of the following terms:

Please break these figures down by platform/search term and recorded offence type. 

2. For the 10 most recent matching crimes, please provide the crime summary, MO description or equivalent brief narrative explaining what allegedly occurred, with any personal information or other exempt information redacted as necessary.
