The Performance & Analysis Department and the Alliance Roads Policing Department have provided the following information:
- In the calendar years 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, how many cyclists were fined by your force for dangerous cycling? Please break this down by year.
In the same calendar years, how many people were issued fines for cycling under the influence of alcohol? Please break this down by year.
Searches were completed in PentiP from 01/01/2022 to 04/12/2025 for the offence group ‘Pedal Cycle Driving’ and disposal type of ‘Fixed Penalty Notice’.
The results are as follows:

- Ride a pedal cycle on a road and fail to stop when directed by a uniformed police constable / traffic warden
- Drunk in charge of a pedal cycle / carriage / animal
- Ride a cycle on a road / bridle way / footpath without due care and attention
- Riding pedal cycle under the influence of drink or drugs
