The total number of recorded shoplifting offences (Home Office classification below) for each of your forces local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) or neighbourhood policing sector. Please send data for each separate calendar year 2023, 2024 and 2025 and also 2019.
For your help shoplifting has the Home Office Code 046/00 and designates Theft from shops and stalls, commonly referred to as shoplifting.
The Performance & Analysis Department has provided the following information:
Searches were completed within UNIFI and Niche from 01/01/2019 to 31/12/2019 and 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2025 for the Home Office code 046/00.
Please note that the data uses the "Principal Crime Rule", therefore only occurrences whereby this is the main offence have been returned. The data doesn't include cancelled crimes, only reported offences.
