The Road Safety Team has provided the following information:

Please note that the following data is the total number of activations and includes blue light vehicles.

For each of the calendar years 2023, 2024 and 2025, please provide:

1. A) The total number of speeding offences detected by your force, regardless of outcome (including fixed penalty notices, speed awareness courses, prosecutions, or other disposals).

• 2023 – 215,884
• 2024 – 267,063
• 2025 – 308,014

1. B) Of these, the number of speeding offences detected in locations with a 20 mph speed limit zone.

• 2023 – 1,370
• 2024 - 825
• 2025 - 894

If held, please provide the data broken down by year. If the data is not held exactly in this format, I would be grateful if you could provide the closest equivalent information available.

For clarity, this request relates to detected speeding offences, rather than notices issued or final outcomes, unless detections are not recorded separately.
