The Road Safety Department has provided the following information:
Please provide answers to the following questions for both 1 September to 31 December 2024, and separately for 2025 (full year):
1. Of all the speeding offences recorded in your force area on roads with a 20mph limit:
a. What was the highest speed recorded?
1 Sep 2024 to 31 Dec 2024 - 52mph.
2025 - 60mph
b. At what time of day was this speed recorded, and on which stretch of road?
2024 0157 on B3214 Old Laira Road, Plymouth.
2025 0814 on Unclassified Road btwn and incl North Parade and High Street, Falmouth
2. In total, how many drivers were recorded driving at a speed of 30mph or more, on roads in your force area with a 20mph limit?
2024 – 65
2025 – 66
3. Of all the speeding offences recorded in your force area on roads with a 30mph limit:
a. What was the highest speed recorded?
1 Sep 2024 to 31 Dec 2024 - 116mph.
2025 - 87mph
b. At what time of day was this speed recorded, and on which stretch of road?
2024 0446 on A386 Outland Rd Jct Segrave Rd, Plymouth.
2025 2309 on Plymouth Road Jct Dingle Road, Plymouth.
4. In total, how many drivers were recorded driving at a speed of 40mph or more, on roads in your force area with a 30mph limit?
2024 – 1906
2025 - 2836
5. Of all the speeding offences recorded in your force area - on any road:
a. What was the highest speed recorded?
1 Sep 2024 to 31 Dec 2024 - 120mph.
2025 - 117mph
- On which stretch of road was this highest speed recorded?
