The Performance & Analysis Department has provided the following information:
Searches were completed within Niche from March 2024 to March 2026 for all hate crime and non-crime hate occurrences with a transgender hate type.
- Total Recorded: Between March 2024 and March 2026, how many recorded criminal offences were flagged with a 'transphobic' hate crime marker?

- Multiple Offences: Out of those recorded incidents, how many involved the suspect being charged with multiple distinct criminal offences arising from the same incident?
This question has been answered by reviewing crime records without an outcome of charged, and searching for crimes with the same committed date and where the Nominal ID of the suspect or offender is also present. Linked occurrences were then reviewed to determine if both occurrences stemmed from the same event, in this case, occurrences have been returned if they both have an outcome of charged (1: Charged or 1: Summonsed/postal requisition).
Of the crimes in question 1, that resulted in an individual being charged, 3 individuals were charged for multiple different crimes arising from the same event.
- One of these individuals was charged for two crimes that were both recorded as transphobic Hate Crimes.
- The second was charged for a singular transphobic Hate Crime as well as a non-Hate Crime.
- The third individual was charged for a singular transphobic Hate Crime and two other unique non-Hate Crimes.
- Prosecution Referrals: How many of these recorded transphobic hate crime cases were officially referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for a charging decision?
