1) Between 1/4/2016 - 31/3/2019 how many fatal road collisions did your force investigate?
Between April 1st 2016 and March 31st 2019, there were 179 fatal collisions in Devon and Cornwall. Of those collisions, there were 196 fatalities involved.
2) Of these, how many collisions involved the deceased and the driver/rider knowing each other?
We do not keep easily retrievable data to be able to provide figures for Q2
3) Between 1/4/2016 - 31/3/2019 how many drivers involved in fatal collisions were prosecuted (charged) with murder under the Homicide Act?
None
Please note that a driver is more likely to be charged with the offence of “Cause death by dangerous driving” or “Cause death by careless / inconsiderate driving” than “Murder”
